Engaging and Motivating learners in GCSE English

Welcome

This session focuses on the use of digital technology to engage and motivate GCSE English learners. The session explores a variety of approaches and free tools including apps and websites for formative assessment, online discussion and collaboration and digital tools for classroom management.

Session Outcomes

By the end of this session you will be able to:

  • identify positive methodologies to re-engage learners who are re-sitting GCSE English
  • identify how to develop learners’ motivation and confidence through active personalised approaches
  • evaluate approaches for engaging, retaining and inspiring reluctant learners
  • use technology to promote learner engagement, motivation and success.
