Level 5 GCSE English – Session 9

Putting it all together

Welcome

The texts that are introduced in this session for the lesson study activity include 19th Century fiction and poetry, which are difficult for many GCSE resit learners to relate to. The emphasis, therefore, during the lesson study activity is that participants draw upon their insights from the course to plan suitable session activities which develop their learners’ skills holistically, make links to learners’ real-life literacy/ language experiences, use assessment for learning practices and encourage problem-solving and resilient behaviours.
