Teacher Education

We provide professional learning and development (PLD) courses and a range of other programmes for teachers, trainers, learning support assistants and many others involved in post-16 teaching/ training. One form of PLD you might be interested in is practitioner-led action research. Our national programme this year (for the Education and Training Foundation) focusses on English and maths – our team will be happy to answer any questions you may have about this – OTLA@ccConsultancy.co.uk. Accredited Teacher Training (English and maths)

We run Level 3 and Level 5 Professional Development courses in English and maths accredited by Ascentis. These include Level 5 modules in ‘GCSE English/ maths subject knowledge and pedagogy’ and ‘Functional Skills English/ maths’.

Support for Teaching English, Maths and Digital Literacies

We offer a wide range of engaging courses and webinars to support your personal skills and teaching approaches, and to help you and your organisation improve outcomes in maths, English and digital literacies. Perhaps you’re looking to improve learner motivation and behaviour? Maybe you’d like to support emergent/ developing readers and writers using phonics? Take a look at what’s on offer here.

Practitioner-led action research

Our national action research programmes support teachers, trainers, support workers and managers from post-16 learning providers to:

  • develop rigorous, transferable action research approaches that inspire sustained professional development for all practitioners in the sector; and
  • generate learner-friendly strategies and resources that address critical issues in current post-16 provision.

Screen industry trainer training

We run specialist ‘train the trainer’ courses and support for industry trainers from the screen (TV and film) sector on behalf of ScreenSkills. Courses include the following:

  • Train the trainer for new industry trainers
  • Best practices for HE/ FE screen industry trainers
  • Supporting ESOL trainees
  • Supporting neurodiverse trainees
  • Best practices for training online
