Best Practices for Training in the Screen Industries Course (2 day)
The purpose of our ‘train the trainer’ course is to support those involved in industry training to identify, share and develop best practice. Building on your existing practice, you’ll explore practical strategies for designing and developing engaging, interactive and inclusive training opportunities that meet participants’ needs and recognise their aspirations.
Friday 12th and 19th November @10-12
Wednesday 19th and 26th January @10-12
Supporting trainees for whom English is a second or other language Course (2 hour)
This course will focus on supporting trainees for whom English is a second or other language (ESOL). We will consider effective and inclusive approaches that ensure ESOL trainees can fully participate in training and help you develop your awareness of language barriers and opportunities for language development when supporting ESOL trainees.
This course is for trainers who are supporting ESOL trainees. It is not an ESOL course (where you will learn language for working in the screen industries).
Tuesday 11th January @10-12
Tuesday 1st March @10-12
Supporting neurodiverse trainees (2 hour)
This course aims to develop your awareness of how to support trainees who are neurodiverse and / or have specialist educational needs and disabilities (SEND). You will focus on practical strategies and reasonable adjustments for including all delegates on your courses. This will take the form of ‘areas of focus’ that cut across many different kinds of SEND/ neurodiversity and will help to ensure inclusion for all.
Tuesday 7th December @10-12
Tuesday 22nd February @10-12
Effective practice in on-line learning (2 hour)
Drawing on lessons learnt from lockdown, this course aims to explore and evaluate a range of digital approaches, e-learning tools and websites with direct reference to their relevance in improving trainee engagement and achievement on screen industry courses. It will help you to develop your skills and confidence, both in terms of digital content creation and the curation of resources that can be found online.
Tuesday 23rd November @10-12
Thursday 20th January @10-12
